ACCURATE THINKING MATTERS
|

Kristen Moeller is a literary agent, executive publisher, author, and TEDx speaker who lives in the mountains of Colorado. She also helps people build successful careers and businesses. Here, she talks to John Patterson about the difference between accurate thinking versus magical thinking.

Magical thinking is a term often used in psychology and anthropology. It denotes the belief that one's thoughts by themselves can bring about effects in the world. But Kristen learned the hard way that magical thinking doesn’t correspond with doing things. To achieve and succeed, you need accurate thinking, especially in business and when you’re dealing with money.

She discusses how she used to do a lot of thinking, but relied on her personality to get places. Despite her successes, it didn’t necessarily enable her to achieve what she was thinking. She shares how devastated she was when things didn’t happen, describing the experience as emotional and spiritual bankruptcy.

But without hope what do you do? Listen to the podcast to find out.
